Halloween is a fun time for kids – not only do they get a bunch of candy and treats, they also get to dress up like their favorite characters.
There’s no shortage of ideas when it comes to kids costumes – just look to their favorite TV shows or movies for inspiration.
Cartoon characters, superheros, animals – there are tons of ideas right there.
They can also go with something more traditional, like a vampire or a witch.
They might even want to dress up as what they want to be when they grow up. A rock star, a fireman, a hockey player – the choices are endless.
When planning your kids costumes, there are few things you should keep in mind…
If they’re going out trick-or-treating, be mindful of the weather. If you live somewhere that is likely to be cold or rainy, plan their costume accordingly.
Dressing up in a costume that has more to it is going to keep them a lot warmer. After all, who want to wear a jacket and cover up that great costume?
Try to keep the costume as low maintenance as possible. Kids will be kids, and they can be pretty hard on their costume. This is especially true if they get to wear it to school for Halloween, or some other event where they’ll be active in it.
Make sure the costume is easy for them to get in and out of (bathroom breaks will come, after all) and won’t fall apart if they play in it.
